General Information
Everything published on Tressora is for general information and inspiration. We work to keep it accurate and useful, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete, current, or right for your situation.
What you do with the information here is your decision, and the risk is yours.
Chemical Treatments and Scalp Safety
This is the part of the site where getting it wrong actually hurts, so read it properly.
Bleach, permanent dye, relaxers, perms, and keratin or smoothing treatments involve strong chemicals. They can cause chemical burns, allergic reactions, permanent hair damage, hair loss, and scalp injury. Some smoothing treatments release formaldehyde when heated, which carries respiratory risks.
If an article on Tressora describes or shows a chemically treated style, treat it as inspiration and nothing more. Specifically:
- Have chemical services done by a licensed professional wherever possible
- Always patch test a dye or chemical product before full application, even if you have used the product or brand before. Sensitisation can develop suddenly.
- Stop immediately if you feel burning, stinging, or itching, and rinse thoroughly
- Never mix products or combine chemical services without professional guidance
- Tell your stylist about any previous chemical treatment on your hair, including box dye. Combining incompatible chemistry can destroy hair.
If you have a scalp condition, a known allergy, a history of reaction to hair products, or you are pregnant, speak to a doctor or dermatologist before undertaking a chemical treatment.
If you experience a serious reaction, seek medical attention. Do not wait it out.
Hairstyle Results Will Vary
How a style turns out depends on your hair texture, density, curl pattern, condition, growth pattern, length, previous treatments, and the skill of whoever is cutting or colouring it. Two people can ask for the same cut and get different results, and both stylists may have done good work.
For advice specific to your hair, ask a qualified stylist. They can see your hair. We cannot.
About Our Images
Many images on Tressora are generated using artificial intelligence, and we say so openly in our Image Policy.
This matters here for one reason: an AI image can show hair doing things that real hair may not do. It can render a shape, a colour, or a texture that is flattering but not reliably achievable on a real head. Treat every image as a reference to discuss with a stylist, not a result you are promised.
Ask your stylist whether a look is realistic for your hair before committing to it. Sometimes the answer will be no, and it is far better to hear that first.
